Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A or Class B) in a safe and timely manner to deliver goods to designated locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads to prevent shifting.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and documentation, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies to ensure the safety of the driver, other motorists, and the cargo.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Must possess a clean driving record with no major violations (DUI, reckless driving, etc.) within the last 3-5 years.
- Pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) physical requirements (Medical Card required).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
