Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B CDL) to transport goods across Virginia Beach and surrounding areas
- Perform pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and DOT regulations
- Load/unload cargo safely using proper equipment and techniques
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Document all transportation activities and maintain compliance records
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Virginia roadways and delivery routes
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement and weight distribution
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
