Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B) for local/regional routes within Illinois and surrounding states
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and company safety protocols
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Coordinate with dispatch team for efficient route optimization and on-time deliveries
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques and equipment operation
- Communicate professionally with clients and resolve delivery-related issues
- Utilize electronic logging systems (ELD) and telematics for real-time tracking
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening (pre-employment and random)
- Proficient in operating manual transmissions and air brake systems
- Strong knowledge of Chicago metropolitan area roadways and traffic patterns
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to pass background check and MVR review
