Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van, refrigerated, or flatbed) within designated routes
- Inspect vehicles before/during/after trips to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation (BOLs, mileage, etc.)
- Load/unload freight efficiently with proper equipment handling
- Adapt to changing schedules and prioritize on-time deliveries
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients
- Adhere strictly to FMCSA regulations and company policies
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of Chicago metro area and surrounding routes
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility for irregular hours and overnight routes
- Team player with customer-focused attitude
