Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers on highways and local routes within North Carolina and surrounding states.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and vehicle safety.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing freight according to safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation, including electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery receipts.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Current Medical Card (DOT compliant) must be presented at time of interview.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience is preferred.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety procedures.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime as needed.
