Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (box trucks or dry vans) on daily routes across New York and surrounding areas
- Accurately document delivery logs, mileage reports, and vehicle inspection records
- Maintain compliance with FMCSA regulations and company safety protocols
- Manage efficient loading/unloading procedures with minimal downtime
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route changes or delivery exceptions
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
- Represent Metro Freight Logistics professionally in client interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Familiarity with NYC traffic patterns and delivery zones
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
- Basic knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Must pass company background check and driving history review
