Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailers safely and efficiently within New York City and surrounding areas
- Load/unload cargo with proper equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Complete accurate delivery documentation and electronic logs
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and routine vehicle maintenance checks
- Maintain compliance with FMCSA regulations and company policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members
- Adapt to changing schedules and delivery priorities
- Represent the company professionally in customer interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with NYC traffic patterns and delivery regulations
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement and weight distribution
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Smartphone proficiency for electronic logging and communication
