Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight within Chicago and surrounding regions
- Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Accurately complete delivery documentation and electronic logging (ELD)
- Maintain clean driving record and adhere to all traffic laws
- Collaborate with dispatch team for efficient route planning and on-time deliveries
- Provide exceptional customer service during loading/unloading operations
- Report vehicle maintenance issues promptly to ensure operational readiness
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical loading/unloading duties
- Strong knowledge of Chicago metropolitan area and surrounding routes
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening (pre-employment and random)
- Proficient in using electronic logging devices (ELD) and GPS navigation
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Flexibility to work variable shifts including early mornings and weekends
