Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and vans on local and regional routes within the Boston metro area.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring proper securing of goods to prevent damage.
- Follow delivery routes and time schedules to ensure on-time arrivals.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Interact professionally with customers at delivery points, handling documentation and signatures.
- Maintain a clean and organized cab, adhering to company cleanliness standards.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately to management.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of driving experience preferred, but willing to train qualified candidates.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and Boston area geography.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
- Ability to lift and carry cargo weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
