Job Overview
As a CDL Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods across the Chicago metropolitan area and surrounding regions. We offer local and regional routes that allow you to be home daily or weekly, providing a healthy work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual lifting as required.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery paperwork.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols to ensure the security of cargo and the well-being of the public.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) Class A or B with appropriate endorsements (Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial environment.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of interstate and intrastate traffic laws and regulations.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
- Professional attitude and excellent time management skills.
