Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (Class A or B) in accordance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate driver logs (ELD/DSO).
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads against shifting.
- Deliver freight to designated locations in Chicago and the surrounding IL/IN/WI regions efficiently and on time.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the company to customers.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding traffic conditions, delays, or mechanical issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B with a clean driving record (no more than 3 points in past 3 years).
- Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid DOT medical card.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Basic computer skills for logging and electronic communication.
