Responsibilities
- Operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight safely and efficiently across North Carolina and surrounding states
- Perform pre-trip inspections and document vehicle maintenance logs per DOT regulations
- Plan optimal delivery routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely arrivals
- Load/unload freight with proper equipment and secure cargo according to safety protocols
- Maintain electronic logs (ELD) and submit accurate delivery documentation
- Communicate with dispatch team regarding route status, delays, and delivery confirmations
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation laws and company safety policies
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Proficiency in electronic logging device (ELD) systems and GPS navigation
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety compliance
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) with no major violations in past 3 years
