Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers to deliver freight on time and within budget.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and identify mechanical issues.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) records in strict accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and any operational delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies at all times.
- Represent the company professionally at job sites and customer locations.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) Class A or Class B with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement techniques and DOT compliance regulations.
- Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
- Must be willing to cross state lines and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if required.
- Basic computer skills for logging and reporting.
