Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely operate Class A or Class B trucks to transport goods across local and regional routes in and around the Chicago metropolitan area.
- Load and Unload: Ensure cargo is loaded, secured, and unloaded efficiently using proper equipment, adhering to weight and balance regulations.
- Safety Compliance: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting any issues immediately. Adhere strictly to all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety policies.
- Route Management: Plan and follow delivery routes according to schedules, ensuring timely deliveries while navigating traffic and road conditions.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and receivers to ensure satisfaction and resolve any delivery issues professionally.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs (DVIR, ELD logs), bills of lading, and delivery receipts.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) with the required endorsements (Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples preferred).
- Clean Driving Record: A driving record that meets our safety standards (no more than 3 preventable accidents in the last 3 years).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, sit for extended periods, and pass a DOT physical examination.
- Documentation: Valid DOT Medical Card and current DOT drug screen.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and ability to use handheld devices for electronic logging.
