Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial delivery trucks (Class A or B CDL required) on assigned routes in Chicago and surrounding Illinois areas.
- Load and unload freight using pallet jacks, forklifts, or hand trucks, ensuring cargo security.
- Verify delivery accuracy and obtain signatures from recipients.
- Complete daily vehicle inspection reports (DVIR) and log maintenance issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers regarding delivery delays or issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized cab and cargo area.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of local Chicago and Illinois roadways.
- Basic mechanical skills to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to and from the terminal.
