Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver freight to designated locations within strict timeframes
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
- Plan and optimize delivery routes using GPS technology for maximum efficiency
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain proper documentation from recipients
- Load/unload cargo with proper securing techniques to prevent damage
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Assist in warehouse operations when not actively delivering
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean MVR
- Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Strong knowledge of Raleigh-area roadways and traffic patterns
- Proficient in using electronic logging devices and route planning software
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to pass mandatory background check and drug screening
- Customer-focused attitude with professional communication skills
