Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks over designated routes to deliver freight on time.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or hand trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing all freight.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (ELD) and complete all necessary delivery paperwork and inspections.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe operating condition.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery updates and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of road conditions, traffic patterns, and local geography in the Austin area.
- Basic computer literacy for electronic logging systems and invoicing.
- Professional attitude, punctuality, and reliability.
