Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers in a safe, legal, and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe operating condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring weight distribution and proper securing of freight to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic logging device (ELD) records, including miles driven, hours of service, and delivery information.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any delivery challenges promptly.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and participate in ongoing safety training programs to maintain a clean safety record.
- Represent the company professionally at customer delivery sites and maintain a positive brand image at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A) required.
- Clean driving record with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and a criminal background check.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, cargo handling, and pre-trip inspection procedures.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
