Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A trucks safely and efficiently during night hours.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring weight distribution is accurate.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting any mechanical issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery paperwork.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety regulations.
- Navigate traffic patterns and routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding cargo status and delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screening.
- Willingness to work rotating night shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
- Basic computer literacy for electronic logging and invoicing.
- Strong commitment to safety and defensive driving practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle cargo physically.
