Responsibilities
- Operate commercial tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during designated night shifts.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with FMCSA and company standards.
- Load and unload cargo securely, verifying freight accuracy and condition upon delivery.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all required paperwork.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, traffic laws, and Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the cab and cargo area.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A required.
- Must possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and be insurable.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial truck.
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
- Willingness to travel across state lines, including routes to Washington DC.
- Strong mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting.
- Basic computer skills for logging and paperwork.
