Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving time, breaks, and distances driven (ELD compliance).
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads per DOT standards.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and arrive at delivery points within the designated time windows.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times while representing the company.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delays or issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Current DOT Medical Card (Medical Examiner's Certificate).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of interstate and intrastate highway systems.
- Basic math skills for calculating loads and fuel costs.
