Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport goods across Washington, DC metropolitan area
- Maintain strict adherence to DOT regulations, safety protocols, and delivery schedules
- Perform pre-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance documentation
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques and equipment
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and warehouse personnel
- Manage delivery documentation and proof-of-service requirements
- Adapt to changing traffic conditions and delivery priorities in urban environment
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable Class A driving experience
- Familiarity with Washington, DC geography and traffic patterns
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong time-management and route optimization skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELD)
