Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle to deliver freight to designated locations in San Jose and surrounding areas.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using proper handling equipment, ensuring weight distribution and securing loads correctly.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving time and mileage (EOBR compliant) and complete all necessary delivery paperwork.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients by adhering to delivery schedules and maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding traffic conditions, delays, or route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations within the last 3 years.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo handling procedures.
