Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial Class A trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently to designated delivery points.
- Maintenance: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and warehouse personnel during loading, unloading, and delivery processes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cargo, delivery receipts, and electronic logging device (ELD) logs.
- Route Planning: Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules and optimize driving routes to minimize delays.
- Load Handling: Secure cargo properly and assist with loading and unloading when required.
Qualifications
- License: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Medical: Must possess a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT physical).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Record: Excellent driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Physical: Ability to lift and move cargo weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Equipment: Willingness to operate equipment provided by the company.
