Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks and vans on assigned routes throughout Detroit and the surrounding region.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and handling of fragile items with care.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) logs and daily delivery documentation (bills of lading).
- Provide exceptional customer service by adhering to delivery schedules and resolving on-site delivery issues professionally.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and presentable at all times.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company safety policies.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a professional setting.
- Current DOT medical card and physical certification.
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Strong knowledge of road conditions, traffic patterns in the Great Lakes region, and navigation tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting is a plus.
