As a Route Driver with Apex Logistics, you will play a critical role in ensuring our customers receive their freight on time and in perfect condition. We prioritize safety, professionalism, and work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A vehicles to deliver freight to designated routes and customers in the Charlotte metro area and surrounding regions.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling, ensuring proper weight distribution and security.
- Interact professionally with customers, handling inquiries and resolving delivery issues with a positive attitude.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily paperwork, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Keep the truck and cargo area clean and organized at all times, adhering to cleanliness protocols.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company driving policies to ensure maximum safety for you, our team, and the public.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial truck.
- Current DOT Medical Card and DOT Drug Screening clearance.
- Ability to pass a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor vehicle troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service oriented mindset.
- Ability to lift, pull, and push heavy objects up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
