Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to deliver freight on scheduled regional routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records
- Plan efficient routes using GPS technology while adhering to DOT regulations
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques and equipment
- Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and issues
- Complete required paperwork (bills of lading, logs) with meticulous accuracy
- Demonstrate defensive driving practices in all weather conditions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with HOS regulations and electronic logging devices
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and operate loading equipment
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting knowledge preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
