Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Safely drive a commercial Class A tractor-trailer to deliver freight to designated locations on time and in perfect condition.
- Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections: Perform thorough vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and vehicle safety standards.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers at delivery points, ensuring satisfaction and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Maintain Documentation: Accurately complete daily logs, delivery receipts, and other required paperwork in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
- Load Securing: Properly secure cargo using straps, chains, and other tie-downs to prevent damage during transit.
- Route Planning: Utilize GPS and mapping systems to plan the most efficient routes while adhering to traffic laws and time windows.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License: Must possess a current, valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with the proper endorsements (Hazmat and Tanker endorsements are a plus).
- Clean Driving Record: Must have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years and no major accidents.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience preferred.
- Medical Card: Current DOT medical card and physical ability to meet Department of Transportation standards.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read and comprehend maps and delivery instructions.
- Professionalism: Ability to work independently and maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions.
