Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A dump trucks to transport various materials (gravel, dirt, asphalt, demolition debris) to and from job sites.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Load and unload materials efficiently, ensuring weight distribution is accurate and safe.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging devices (ELD) in strict adherence to hours of service (HOS) rules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, project managers, and site supervisors regarding delivery times and route changes.
- Operate dump truck hydraulic systems and controls safely and correctly.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating dump trucks or heavy construction equipment.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety protocols, and route planning.
- Basic mechanical skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and adhere to strict safety standards.
