Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers in a safe, efficient, and legally compliant manner.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely using proper equipment to prevent damage or injury.
- Maintain accurate records of hours of service (HOS) using ELDs and daily logs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies while navigating routes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any issues encountered.
- Keep the cab and trailer clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of Florida.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) and DOT card.
- Absolutely no DUIs or serious traffic violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and operating standard manual transmission trucks.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
