Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A trucks to transport cargo safely and efficiently to designated delivery points.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT and company safety standards.
- Load and unload freight using proper equipment, ensuring cargo security and weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and manage all necessary delivery documentation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to resolve delivery issues and confirm schedules.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of California.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no DUIs, reckless driving, or major moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and road conditions.
- Basic computer proficiency for logging and reporting.
