Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads securely.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Conduct minor vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues immediately.
- Uphold a high standard of customer service and safety on the road.
Qualifications
- Clean Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Current, valid DOT Medical Card.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Excellent driving record with no serious violations (DUI, reckless driving, or at-fault accidents in the last 3 years).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to travel regionally and long-haul as needed.
