Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers on regional and long-haul routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using proper lifting techniques and tie-down methods.
- Maintain accurate Electronic Logging Device (ELD) logs and delivery paperwork.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and dock personnel regarding schedules and cargo changes.
- Conduct regular vehicle maintenance checks to prevent breakdowns.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and cargo securement.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
