Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck and trailer are in proper working order.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts and dock equipment, ensuring weight distribution is correct.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (ELD) and all required shipping and receiving documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Uphold a high standard of safety and cleanliness within the cab and the cargo area.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in the past 5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Willingness to obtain Hazmat or Tanker endorsements if required by route.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight delivery deadlines.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
