Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A tractor-trailers on regional and over-the-road routes, including frequent stops in Virginia.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring cargo is secured properly to prevent damage.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety standards.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all necessary delivery paperwork.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company driving policies to ensure the safety of passengers and other road users.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, cargo securement, and pre-trip inspections.
- Basic computer skills for electronic logging and paperwork.
- Must be willing to travel and have no restrictions that would prevent operation of a commercial vehicle.
