Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and legally in strict compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring cargo security and proper documentation.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and driver logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, shippers, and receivers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including seatbelt usage and speed limits, at all times.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance checks and report necessary repairs.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a similar role.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle across state lines.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
