Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks in a safe and efficient manner across Virginia and North Carolina routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring cargo security.
- Maintain accurate logs and records as required by FMCSA and company policy.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols to minimize risk.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Must possess a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a DOT drug screen and background check.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo securement.
- Must be able to pass a road test and skills assessment.
