Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks to deliver freight on time and within budget.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure 100% compliance with DOT regulations.
- Secure cargo using straps, chains, and binders to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate Electronic Logging Device (ELD) records and all necessary delivery paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
- Perform light maintenance checks (tire pressure, fluid levels) and report mechanical issues immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Physical) less than 2 years old.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and safety standards.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
