Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks over various road conditions while adhering to all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and security of cargo and the vehicle.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.) while maintaining cargo integrity.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery receipts, and mileage records as required by federal and state laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, shippers, and receivers to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules.
- Uphold a professional image and maintain a clean driving record at all times.
- Participate in ongoing safety training and company meetings.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (MVR check required).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience (Preferred for bonus positions).
- Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle across state lines.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of DOT/HOS regulations and safety protocols.
- Basic computer skills for electronic logging device (ELD) entry and paperwork.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
