Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial delivery vehicle on local and regional routes within the DC/VA area.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Complete all necessary delivery documentation, including Bills of Lading and mileage logs, accurately and on time.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by maintaining a professional demeanor at every stop.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe driving environment within the truck cab and cargo area.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of Virginia or DC.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination (Must be able to pass the medical card requirements).
- Willingness to undergo a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and handle physical demands of the job.
- Basic computer literacy for logging duties.
