Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A) safely and efficiently to deliver goods to customers in the San Diego area.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT and company safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring proper securement and handling of materials.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and pickups, resolving any issues professionally.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding route changes, delays, or mechanical issues.
- Keep the vehicle clean and presentable at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and maintain a Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety protocols, and navigation systems.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Basic computer skills for logging and reporting.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if necessary.
