Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 8 tractor-trailers for local/regional routes within NYC Metro area
- Load/unload freight with precision using forklifts and pallet jacks
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic records via ELD systems
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and vehicle maintenance checks
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and NYC traffic laws
- Communicate with dispatch team using Qualcomm systems
- Manage time-sensitive deliveries with GPS navigation
- Assist in training new drivers as needed
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean 3-year MVR
- Minimum 2 years recent tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and operate loading equipment
- Familiarity with NYC boroughs and delivery zones
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Strong knowledge of HAZMAT regulations (preferred)
- Flexibility for overnight/weekend shifts
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
