Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks to deliver cargo to designated locations in Illinois and surrounding regions.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring the protection of goods during transit.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all necessary paperwork.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies to ensure a clean driving record.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A) required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical).
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of Illinois traffic laws and interstate commerce regulations.
- Ability to lift and handle freight up to 50 lbs (if applicable).
- Must possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
