Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles (tractor-trailers) safely and efficiently over designated routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securement and weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and electronic carrier documentation (BOL, Bill of Lading).
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and delays.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience (Class A preferred).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, highway safety, and vehicle operations.
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally during loading/unloading operations.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
