Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A vehicles on regional and local routes throughout Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing freight using straps and chains.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to ensure timely delivery and address any issues.
- Keep the truck cab clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Physical).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet strict delivery schedules.
- Physical ability to load/unload cargo and perform duties in various weather conditions.
- Reliable personal vehicle for local travel to/from terminals.
