Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Drive commercial tractor-trailers on designated routes in and around Houston, TX, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of freight.
- Inspection & Maintenance: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Cargo Handling: Safely load, secure, and unload cargo using proper tie-down techniques to prevent damage during transit.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of driving hours (ELD), delivery receipts, and delivery status reports as required by DOT regulations.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations at all times.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and brokers to resolve delivery issues and ensure high satisfaction levels.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A License: Must possess a current, valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience is preferred.
- Legal Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old and pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen as required by FMCSA regulations.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read and understand maps and delivery routes.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb in and out of the cab frequently, and work in various weather conditions.
