Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in accordance with FMCSA regulations and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and security of the cargo and vehicle.
- Load and unload freight accurately, utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of driving time, miles driven, and cargo status (E-Logs compliant).
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean driving record.
- Represent Pacific Coast Transport professionally at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (or ability to obtain one).
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical).
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) background check and drug screen.
- Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
- Willingness to undergo paid training if no commercial driving experience is held.
- Basic English language proficiency for reading road signs and communicating.
