Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight throughout Florida and the Southeast.
- Load and unload cargo securely, utilizing forklifts and pallet jacks as necessary.
- Maintain accurate Electronic Logging Device (ELD) logs and all required documentation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and delays.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card) and DOT registration.
- Clean driving record with no DUIs or serious traffic violations within the last 3 years.
- Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as business dictates.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
