Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers over various road conditions to deliver cargo on time.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records in the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and daily logbooks.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and hazardous material handling procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and route changes.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A) issued by the state of Maryland.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Strong knowledge of highway map reading and GPS navigation systems.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overnight shifts if necessary.
