Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, on local and regional routes.
- Load and unload freight accurately and efficiently using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Ensure timely delivery of cargo while adhering to strict schedule deadlines.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and vehicle inspection reports.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and ensure delivery accuracy.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of Illinois.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience (entry-level candidates with a strong aptitude for driving may be considered).
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- U.S. Citizenship or valid legal work authorization required.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
